Seven Months

Mitchell is seven months old today. We got to celebrate by dedicating him in church. Our pastor does something very special for baby dedications. He will tell the meaning of the child's name and the spiritual connotation. Then he gives them a life verse. This is what he said for Mitchell. His name means "Who is Like God." The spiritual connotation is Godliness. The verse that goes with this 1 Timothy 4:8. It says, "For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come." It was a very special time presenting him to the church and committing to raising him up in a Christian home. Our family also got to attend the service. Two other babies were also dedicated. Usually it works out that there is only one, but our friends Jamie and Jennifer (they are twins) each have had babies recently and dedicated them too. It was a full stage by the end.

This is our pastor and his wife. They presented me with a rose and Mitchell with a little Bible. They also give us a letter to present to Mitchell on his 12th birthday. It talks about becoming a Christian. Mitchell will be 12 in 2020. That just sounds crazy!

He got to wear shoes to church.

Mitchell can't crawl yet, but he really wants to. You can see that he is getting up on his knees and hands. He rocks back and forth and then just falls down on his tummy. He can scoot backwards and is always getting off of his blanket.

Mitchell is starting to interact with Missy (our dog) more.
